A letter from pastor charissa
As I look out my office window at the gentle snow falling on Beaver St here in Sewickley today, it reminds me that we're nearing the time of year when snow and ice can get in the way of travel. This is a great time to refresh everyone on our winter weather policy.
First and foremost: DO NOT COME TO CHURCH if you are uncomfortable with the road/weather conditions, regardless of if we've officially canceled or not. If you look out on your street and see a big snowy pile of "No way I'm driving in that", you are fully and enthusiastically excused from church, no questions asked.
If you are ok with travel, but the conditions are questionable, please check the local TV stations - WPXI and KDKA for closing information. There will also be notices on the church website, instagram, and Facebook. If you'd like one more layer of certainty, we have a closings text/email blast list that you can join. This will go out almost immediately after we opt for closing due to weather so you will know right away. You can sign up at the link below to be included in this list.
Here's hoping we don't have to use this information often, but it's always better safe than sorry!
Meanwhile, enjoy the lovely snow!
